Where was the Gosyuuinn(御朱院) from:
The Atami Kinomiya Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It's renowned for its picturesque setting nestled within the lush greenery of the surrounding mountainside and its proximity to the ocean. The shrine has a long history dating back over a thousand years, with origins tracing to the Nara Period (710-794). It's said to have been established by the Buddhist monk Gyoki during the reign of Emperor Shomu. One of the most distinctive features of the shrine is the ancient camphor tree (kinomiya) that stands within its grounds. Believed to be over 2,000 years old, the tree is venerated as a sacred symbol of longevity, prosperity, and divine protection. It's customary for visitors to offer prayers and make offerings at the tree for good fortune and blessings.
